Sketch Along Tuesdays 4-19 Sketch Challenge #13

Good Morning! What a night, here in Virginia we had horrible storms. Thunder, lightning, and REALLY hard rain fall. I love rain storms but for some reason last night I couldn't sleep. Funny as it may sound I think I was worried about my tomato plant that I had moved outside yesterday. It has been growing in a pot in my house and I thought since it was warm I would put it outside but I was worried it was going to tip over or break or something. LOL! I'm such a dork.

Anywho I was itching to craft last night so I decided to create a LO using this week's sketch challenge from Frosted Designs. I also used some of the products from May's monthly kit. Oh how I love that kit. :-)

The picture isn't as bright as I would have liked it but it is overcast here today. The only things not from the kit are the white alphas which are from April's monthly kit, the twine also from April's monthly kit, and some of the bling on the flowers in the tree and by the butterfly.

Some of the embellishments I actually cut from the cover page from the Echo Park collection pack which is included in May's monthly kit. I wanted to be able to get the most out of the kit and so I did some fussy cutting with the tree, bird, flowers, and the banner. :-) The kite I drew and cut out.

Have you had a chance to see May's monthly kit? Click here if not.

It will be available for sale on Sunday, May 1....you can also pre-order if you would like, just send me an email and I will let you know how we can do that. leeanne@artfuldelight.com

What do ya think of that flower? I made it using some of the gingham ribbon and a Gluber from Cosmo Cricket. I have been waiting since CHA-W to get some of those but they have always been sold out with my distributor. I didn't want to go directly through Cosmo Cricket because I didn't have anything else to order. I finally gave up and asked my LSS to order some when she placed an order with Cosmo Cricket. Oh my they are so much fun to play with. :-) When my dist get them in stock and I can order some I am totally going to have a giveaway.

Alright well that's it for now. I am off to get ready for school. :-) Have a great Monday my friends!! :-)

Mini album

Good Morning crafty friends!!! Yesterday felt like Saturday, I hate when that happens. Throws my whole week off. Takes me forever to get back in the right time zone, lol!!

Loving life

Good Morning! I think other than wishing I had a little more money (maybe win the lotto) I truly do love my life. I have a great supportive man by my side and 4 WONDERFUL children. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think to myself about how much I love my kids and Tony and that I am finally happy with the choices I have made and continue to make and I look forward to what is in our future together.

Today's card was created by April using April's monthly kit. :-) I LOVE that sentiment.

My Yoga Journal

Good Morning and Happy Wednesday! I am so excited that even though I have to attend classes through next Wednesday, today is my last day to turn in any homework and tests. Ahhhhh, I can take a breather. LOL! I really think I am more tired than I think because I am always drinking coffee. Maybe the coffee is holding me together more than I gave it credit for. I mean I have had this annoying twitch in my eye for the last 2 days and it is bothersome. I just feel wiped.

Well one of my last projects for Yoga class was to make a journal documenting our home practice that we put together. Like a routine of poses, and document when we "worked out" and how we felt afterwards. She made a comment that some people in past classes made cute artsy journals. What I am allowed guilt free to craft......as a homework assignment!! YEEESSS!!! When I say guilt free is because sometimes I craft when I know I should be reading or doing some sort of homework but NOW my homework is to craft. So with that the mini album was created!!!

I made my home practice journal in to a mini album. I really like the way it turned out. My Professor says she keeps everyone's journal in a file cabinet and sometimes goes back and reads them so I wanted to make something pretty. :-)

Here are some pics. I used Echo Park's Life is Good collection to decorate it plus some flowers and other embellishments that I had from past Artful Delight kits.

So I used a 7.5x5" acrylic covers and used my Bind-it-All to put it all together. Sorry for the bad pictures, I took them at night and on top of that the glare of the lights on the acrylic covers. I didn't take pictures of all the pages, like the ones with my journal entries. LOL! But these pages are the extras I added, little quotes and such. Thought it would be a cute touch. All the patter paper is from Echo Park's Life is Good collection. I used my FAV woolies from Basic Grey (they were in March's kit) and I used some Prima flowers too.

Check back later today (hopefully) I will have a giveaway for everyone. :-) It's been too long since my last giveaway, lol. :-)

Don't forget to enter this month's sketch challenge, it ends April 23rd. And there are still a few April kits left, check it out here.

Thinking of you

Happy Monday morning! This will be super quick because I am on my way out the door to take my Macroeconomics final.

This card I created using some canvas I bought at Michaels about a month ago. I also bought some new Hero Arts stamps from Michaels. I was in the mood to shop, lol!! I also got some new Hero Arts note cards the other day(I see a giveaway in your future, wink).

So anywho, I stamps the image on the canvas and colored it in with my blender pen and Tim Holtz distress inks. I also used some element stickers from Basic Grey's Kioshi collection.

Well that is all for today, I am off to school! :-)

Sweet Summertime

Good Morning my friends! Ok, so I am so OVER this cold nasty weather we are having. I am so excited about our move to Arizona next year. Ya know I used to live in Florida (lived there about 7 years) and when I moved I totally thought I was over the year round warmth. I thought I missed the 4 seasons, cold Winters, Spring......boy was I mistaken. What was I thinking? I guess since I am originally from Illinois where I grew up with 4 seasons I really just thought that is what I wanted. Well NO MORE cold for me. I may however, miss rain. I remember when we lived in Vegas for a year I think I saw rain once or twice for a total of 5 min. I did miss a good thunderstorm.

Anywho, bring on Summer!! Today's LO that I am sharing with you was created by Debbie. Oh how I want to sit outside in the heat with my kids eating popsicles! LOL! I LOVE this LO all th details, Debbie always adds an amazing amount of details and it never looks out of place or crowded. I LOVE IT!!! Be sure to stop by Debbie's blog for more details!

Alright well that's it for today. This school semester is coming to an end so I have finals and final papers and just finishing up each class. Technically I have 3 weeks but one of those is finals week and most of my Professors plan on giving their finals the week before. So hopefully I will be done May 1. Just in time for May's kit to start shipping. I may have some fun stuff planned while I am on my 2 week break. Some challenges and extra chances to win May's kit.

Speaking of May's kit have you entered this month's sketch challenge?? It ends April 23rd, upload your project for a chance to win May's kit. Think Summer, happy, bright, fun, and cheerful and that is what may arrive on your doorstep in the beginning of May. :-)

You're the Sweetest

Good Morning! Well I am not sure how good it is, last night I was trying to type my Macroeconomics paper and I was having a tough time, like REALLY tough time. I couldn't find anything on the topic I chose. I read articles, news reports, excerpts from books and I just struggled. Several hours later I had about 1/5 of my paper written. Well in all the stress of the evening I forgot to save my work and my computer wanted to do a system update and shut down. Needless to say all my work was gone. What the heck!! For the first time in 2 semesters, 9 classes, I felt defeated by my homework. I always felt I was on top of things, might have stressed a little but never felt so frustrated as I did last night. And NOW, now the paper is gone, I have to start all over.

I did however think several times last night that I should have started over but never did. Maybe this is a positive thing, I rested, I cleared my brain, cleared the work I had been working on and all the websites I found and now I can just start fresh. LOL! Let's hope it was a good thing! :-)

Thankfully I will get a box of goodies from the UPS man today, maybe it will cheer me up. A bunch of stuff for the May kit is coming today! YIPPEEEE!!!!

So today I have a LO to share with you that Abby created using April's monthly kit!!

Abby said she usually likes to add a bunch of embellishments but for this one she wanted to keep it a little more simple to be able to focus on the picture. Isn't he CUTE!!! I love this LO, the title and all the watermelons, just fabulous. For more details about the LO please visit Abby's blog. :-)

I dedicate this post to Julie :-)

Good Morning!! Happy Tuesday. For once I am happy the weeks are flying by, only 2 more weeks of my spring semester. WAHOOO!! I will have a 2 week break before the summer semester and I am totally excited!!

Today's post is dedicated to Julie from Life with the Tucker and Wolek clan. If you don't already follower her, you should. Not only does she offer amazing inspiration but she is such an amazing person. Her posts put a smile on my face!! When I move to Arizona next year, I might only be an hour or so away from her and I would totally love to meet her!! (hi Julie, I know you are reading this)

Anywho if you have been following Julie and have been for awhile you will see monthly she takes pictures with her kids in honor of one of her dear friends. You can see one of her monthly posts here and find out why she started taking these monthly photos. So when I first found Julie's blog awhile back and saw her monthly post with pictures of her and her kids I cried because it made me think about how I don't have ANY pictures (well maybe a few) with me and my kids and that made me very emotional!!

It took me this long but I finally gave in and took pictures with my kids. Not only do I have pictures to share with you but I also made a LO for Sketchy Thursdays May Guest Design Team Challenge and you guessed it I am in the picture too. :-)

Here is the sketch

I totally flipped the sketch upside-down

And here is my take on the sketch

All of the paper is from April's monthly kit, the Thickers and the black flower are from my stash and the butterfly is from February's monthly kit (sold out). I wasn't going to use the butterfly but I did some stitching right where the butterfly is and it got a little out of control, lol!! So that picture is me, Tony (my boyfriend), and Lil Tony. It was taken last year when we visited my family in Illinois. :-)

Now for the pictures. This first picture is me and my lil man, Max. The very few pictures I can get with him that isn't blurry because he just can't sit still, lol!
This next picture is me and my oldest, Nicki, turning 14 on April 23. My how they grow up so fast!!
Oh this picture is with my super sweet Chell-bell aka Isabel. LOL!
My lil man, Tony was being a crab and wouldn't sit with me for nothing and taking a group picture was just out of the question. LOL! Trying to get us all sitting and paying attention at the same time is going to have to wait until they get a bit older.

And this last one is with my girls. We have 3 girls(me included) and 3 boys (Tony included) in our family of 6, nice and even.

Me, Chell-Bell and Kiki-Bur (that's what her brother and sister call her, lol)

Alright so there ya have it!! I want to thank Julie for giving me that push and making me realize as she says, your kids don't care what you look like, they just know you as mom. And I don't ever want my kids to forget me and have sad feelings because they don't have pictures to remember me by. :-)

Pamper Yourself!!

If you are here for the NO HOUSEWORK DAY BLOG HOP click here! The hop ends tonight at 11:59pm and I will announce the winner of my giveaway in the morning!

**EDIT-The blog hop ends at 10pm EST tonight (April 10th) so if you haven't entered the giveaway click on the above link!!**

Good Morning my friends!! I hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend. I can't wait until tomorrow because we are supposed to have temps in the upper 80's. I am going to assume we are just going to bypass Spring. It is either unseasonably cold or really warm. I guess I will take it and have to get used to it if I am going to move to Arizona. Which I am TOTALLY excited about. :-)

So today I am just going to share with you the card I made for the blog hop. I didn't really go in to detail about the card and I have had a bunch of comments and questions about it.

When I was asked to be a part of the blog hop I guess it was about a month ago, and I was told the theme I immediately thought of this stamp that I have seen around the blogosphere but I could not for the life of me remember where I had seen it. I had a couple of stamp companies in mind that I thought sold it so I started my search.

The lady in the bathtub is a stamp from My Favorite Things. I bought the stamp set and held on to it until I was able to get some time to craft. LOL! Which ended up being the day before the hop started. YIKES.

Anywho, the stamp actually has like a mirror image that is supposed to go where the window is but I thought about the cute cloud pattern paper that is in April's monthly kit and thought it would be much cuter to make a window than use the mirror part of the stamp.

I purchased an SVG file from SVGcuts.com that has a bunch of different window shapes. As much as I would love to purchase Cricut cartridges (I am dying to get the Create a Critter cart) I just can't afford actual cartridges so I buy individual SVG files as I need them or create my own in Inkscape.

So I cut the window shape with the Cricut and adhered it together and applied Glossy Accents to make it have more of a window effect. I stamped the bathtub image and cut the tub and legs out. Then I stamped the rug on the daisy pattern paper also included in the kit and I cut it out. I bought a textured white cardstock from my LSS to use for the "floor". I was going to try and make a faux tile look but I decided to just use textured paper. I used some liquid pearls, that I also picked up at my LSS, for the bubbles.

I then stamped the wine glass and cut it out and adhered it to the card. I was going to be funny and stamp (and cut out) several wine bottles and scatter them on the "floor" but I didn't think it would look right and then I wouldn't have room for the sentiment. I am pretty sure if I had an afternoon alone to take a LONG bath I would need a little more than one small glass of wine to get me in a relaxed mood. LOL!

I also stamped the inside with the "Pamper Yourself" sentiment that comes with the set. The brown cardstock is supposed to be the "baseboard" in the bathroom. I finished the card with some Peapod twine from The Twinery, also included in this month's kit.

I probably could have done some sort of tutorial for this card but I am a bit camera shy. In the fall I have to take a Intro to Public Speaking class which is online so I will be doing a lot of recording of speeches. Maybe I will become a little more comfortable in front of a camera. LOL! I would love to start doing some video tutorials.

Well that's all for now, I guess a couple days away from my blog and I become a little chatty.

I will see y'all in the morning with the winner of the blog hop giveaway and hopefully I will get to craft today and have something to share.

Have a fabulous Sunday!! Oh and there is only one April kit left, so if you were wanting to purchase one you should grab it up before it sells out. :-)

Happy Crafting!!

(Blog Hop) It's Your Day......Pamper Yourself!! (and a giveaway)

Oh I am super excited about what I have in store for you today. Julie from Life with the Tucker and Wolek clan invited me to participate in a blog hop and I happily accepted. This will mark my FIRST blog hop and I am totally excited!!!!

We would like to Welcome you to the National No Housework Day Online Blog Hop!! You may find games, prizes, projects, and how do-you-dos along the path! We would appreciate it if you became a follower (but not necessary) and we would love your comments. :-)

You may have arrived here from Jana @ Scrapbook Abundance and that means you are on the right track. :-)

Hope that you enjoyed that stop and the others so far!!

We celebrate this national holiday by scrapping today and into the weekend with projects that remind us of housework or getting away from it!!! Take the day off, put up your feet and let's hop!

I invited my DT to play along with me so be sure to stop by and give them some comment love too! :-)

Leeanne

If I had a day of no housework or homework I would love to take a bath and relax, and drink some wine or heck at this point I would take a couple shots. LOL! (life has been stressful lately)

This card was super fun to create, the window with the glossy accents and the "bubbles" created using liquid pearls, and you can't see it very well but I smeared some liquid pearls on the tub to make it shimmery.

Debbie

I love all the details in Debbie's LO! Super cute photo! :-)

Courtney

WOW, what a stunning card from Courtney, love the colors! Just beautiful!!

Abby

Abby sure can rock those 2 page LO's. They totally intimidate me. LOL! LOVE all the details.

April

YUM!

WOW, we had a fabulous day yesterday. It was so warm in my house I almost turned the air on. LOL! So Tony and I have been talking and our plans to move back to IL have changed. LOL! I am more determined than ever to finish school and move out to ARIZONA! I also had been talking with my dad and really the whole reason I wanted to move back (to IL) was for him. He told me that if that was my only reason, then don't. He said there is a large chance when he retires in 2013 that he will be moving and an even larger chance (90%) that it will also be Arizona. AND only 30-45 min from where we want to move.

My mom's company has a couple location in Arizona and it seems like they always have an Accountant type job opening. So that is my exciting news. I am actually really motivated to finish school by Spring but that would require me to take 6 classes in Fall and Spring. Not sure I can do it. A lot of the classes I think I will make it through OK but not sure I want to take that chance.

So anywho, I have a fantabulous LO to share with you that Abby created using April's monthly kit and some items from March's kit. I really do love this LO! Makes me want Spring to come NOW!

I love the sun and the clouds and the banner. Oh my!! Oh and she used this month's sketch for this LO too.

For more inspiration and details about the LO please visit Abby's blog. Don't forget to use the sketch above to create a LO or card and enter this month's challenge for you chance to win May's monthly kit. :-)

Inspire

Happy Sunday my friends!! I hope y'all are enjoying your weekend. Nothing special happens on the weekends here, Saturday and Sunday are just like every other day. Tony works weekends and really there isn't a whole lot to do around where I live, especially with a 1,2, and 3 year old. LOL!

Have you seen April's sketch challenge yet? Be sure to check it out and get your entry submitted before April 23 for your chance to win May's monthly kit. :-)

Today I am sharing a card with you that I created using a stamp from Memory Box, I absolutely love it but I think I have only used it once or twice.

I used my Tim Holtz distress inks and a spray bottle to create a watercolor look with the image. I really like the way it turned out. The pattern paper is from Colorbok, they sent me a paper pad a while back for signing up for their newsletter or something. It is beautiful paper.

Super simple card. I stitched along the edges of the card and all I had was white thread. It was a bit bright for the card so I sponged a little distress ink on the thread to tone it down a bit.

Stop by tomorrow for some more inspiration from DT member Courtney using April's monthly kit.

April sketch challenge - ASC7

This is my 3rd post today so be sure to scroll down, the winner of my giveaway was announced and earlier today I also shared with you a fabulous LO that Debbie created. :-)

We have another fabulous sketch created by our design team member Debbie:

and here is my take on the sketch:

Terribly sorry for the darker photo, the weather here the past few days has been gloomy, cold and rainy. :-(

Everything on this LO is from April's monthly kit. When I saw Debbie's sketch the first thing that popped in my head was a clothes line, the kit includes some mini clothes pins and little chipboard clothes shapes. So cute!! I used pattern paper from the kit to cover the chipboard and then I matched the papers in the rest of the LO. I sponged some black ink on the alphas.

Be sure to play along with this month's sketch challenge, May's monthly kit is one you will want to have. :-) Wait I think I say that about every month, well I truly think each kit is packed with yummy goodness. Plus our design team provides some amazing inspiration with each month's kit. :-)

Happy Friday!

Good Morning and Happy April!! Is it just me or is this year flying by? I just can't believe it is already April. I also can't believe that we are still having Winter like weather. Doesn't mother nature know I have a ton of veggie plants growing faster than I can keep up with that need to be planted outside? I have a tomato plant that I kid you not is growing like 2-3 inches a day. From morning to night you can noticeably see it has grown. LOL!

So today I will have several posts for you so that I am not lumping it all in one. I really want to highlight this fabulous LO from Debbie. If y'all have been following me for awhile or even follow Debbie's blog you will see that Debbie has amazing talent for fine detail. I always LOVE her LO's. So much detail and it NEVER looks crowded. I try to make my LO's the same and I always feel everything looks out of place.

Well Debbie is trying to simplify her beautiful LO's without losing it's beautiful detail and I believe she has done it. I LOVE this LO! I am so inspired by Debbie's work!

Everything in this LO is from April's monthly kit with the exception of the mini alphabet stickers. For more details about this LO please visit Debbie's blog. :-)
